| | | re: Johny Kingdom I was pleased to see the Silver Birch tree on 'my island' looking green and healthy after all the trauma of being moved by diggerman, unless it's just keeping alive from the sap that would still be in the tree as they can sometimes takes months or even years to die as was found after cable laying in some streets when they used to chop through tree roots rather than try and avoid them as they do or should do now. Mind you, he could always have sneaked another healthy one in between filming I couldn't see many of his pond plants though unless they've died back during the drought when the water level dropped |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom Have to agree with you Witham on your last comment about those poor dog owners whos dogs have been attacked by Wild Boar..and quite rightly too! a domestic animal running about off a lead in the natural habitat of a once native species...i would laugh if i saw it happen! Go Boars...and while your at it...chase the dog owners for a bit too! ha ha
I also got my picture today! yay....in one sentence "Best wishes Johnny Kingdom" he managed 2 mistakes! got to love his genius.
While i still adore him and his show and his passion and the way he is getting kids involved i do feel there is a need for someone...maybe a BBC nature technician to correct or point out all his many natural history innacuracies and incorrect id's and practice....we all LOVE johnny Kingdom because he is one in a million...a one off, eccentric nutcase who gets it all wrong but we love him for it....BUT...he is preaching to masses of young kids who will follow his every word and footstep!...i do not want to see future countryside managers or reserve wardens opening " Badger world" complete with rollercoasters and Badger spinning wheels...i also dont want to see hoardes of lakes/ponds built with totally the wrong profiling for wildlife...and expensive owl/bird boxes put up all over the place in incorrect places etc. Im actually suprised he is allowed by the conservation bodies to get away with what he does?...
but i dont want to sound all negative...the mans heart is totally in the right place, his passion is enviable, he is very entertaining and im envious of what he has...i just would manage the land for wildlife in a slightly different way thats all.

| | | re: Johny Kingdom Just been checking my next weeks, ooops this weeks now, tv mag and I can find only one Johnny prog, on Tuesday, where he's worrying that he hasn't seen any Badger cubs on his Laaand, perhaps they've been playing on the activity centre and been whizzed into outer space from the dreaded wheel |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom I had to laugh during last nights programme when Johnny and his friend were with the wasps nest which had been made in the fence, the man with him was like a naughty school kid when he kept poking the nest with his stick despite Johnny telling him not to, we said there's going to be trouble, then when the angry wasps started to appear and they had to make a run for it it was hilarious especially when Johnny said he had to wait over half an hour before he could go back and rescue his camera, classic. It was nice also that he showed the bit of his two mates with him in the hide on his laaand, even though they couldn't behave and keep quiet, if the one in the green baseball cap has really died it was a nice tribute, I would love to have been a fly on the wall when those three got together I bet they were droll. |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom Just watching Johny Kingdom now on replay. I watch anything about wildlife, however not sure whether sticking a toy tank down a Badger sett is a good idea to be honest. As I said I watch anything about the natural world but in my opinion there are only 2 presenters I take notice of: David Attenborough and Simon King. |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom oops! yeah I forgot about Chris packham. I also think he's very good; although not seen him on the box for a bit. I think some wildlife programmes do stuff that doesn't really have any point or thats already been done before (i.e. Johny's tank camera). I think interference with any species should be kept to a minimum and thats a great skill while still informing the public about the natural world. |

C.Packham would not be added to this pair either. Sorry C.P fans!

| | | re: Johny Kingdom did anyone see Harry Hills Burp last night, one of his 'send ups' was Johnny Kingdom and the Doormouse item, he's found real fame at last
I have read about his show next week and it's where he conquers his fear of horses and flying and then he finds out about his friend Tony Thorne so it will be an emotional one :-( | | | | |
