The baby Badgers were very cute and the starlings were spectacular. I loved the floating hide, totally inconspicuous |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom We watched Johnnys new programmes and really enjoyed them, as we did his last series, I hope all his projects in the wood come off although some of the trees looked a bit 'delicate' and I feel that one Birch in particular has probably seen its last summer. I don't understand why the tree wasn't 'bleeding' sap, as Birches are renowned for it if a branch is pruned or damaged, we had a small one break off in the wind and we had a heck of a job to stop it from weeping. He is so full of enthusiam but I sometimes have to laugh when things don't quite go to plan, when he's telling everyone else to be quiet yet keeps on talking and moving etc or especially when his water hide collapsed last night, he is perhaps natures Eddie the Eagle Edwards, although I did think if he says 'MY LAND' once more I'll scream, the pond is going to be great when it gets established and I hope it attracts lots of different birds and animals etc. I can't understand his wife saying that she'll never see him now he's got the wood, if it was me I would love to be down there helping him but perhaps that's not what she or he wants. I also enjoyed the Starlings at the end and think they equaled or even past Bills ones but would have perhaps liked to have seen a bit more of them and less of him pointing to where they were. |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom The only thing that bothered me was the contraptions (wheely thing) he made for the Badgers..I feel there is an accident waiting to happen..Like one of them will get its leg trapped or something..You have to careful where animals are concerned as they tent to be accident prone having owned a horse for a few years..And a dog that nearly took her eye out the other day on the pyracantha.. |

| | re: Johny Kingdom Missed the one about the Silver Birch but was horrified to see him nailing bird boxes onto trees last night. Not one nail either but about 6 - 8 per box. He claims to be all for the countryside but anyone who knows anything doesn't put multiple nails in a tree.

| | | re: Johny Kingdom When he was trying to get closer to the birds on the water made me laugh , it looked as though his hide was about to fall a part then he said "IM GETTING TOO OLD FOR ALL THIS", yea if I were you johnny Id stick to wildlife on dry ground. He is very addictive and cant wait for episode 3, I think for someone of his age 68 he do very well. The Badgers aww aww, so cute and lovely to see. |

and in reply to Sallie...yes i totally agree about the nails part...well spotted.
and as much as i LOVE Johnny...his acuracy on things and his knowledge and ideas are usually wildly questionable ( My field biology lecturer says the first deer he spotted was incorrectly id'd as Roe deer but it was actually a Sika deer ( or maybe it was other way round?) ...I too dont agree with a Badger assault course and would much rather see film ("superb shot...superb shot") of Badgers acting naturally and not film ruined by Badgers performing on an unatural circus style assault course? i just dont get the logic of this bit?
Still love him though....and HIS LAAAAAANNDD !

| | | re: Johny Kingdom I also thought it ironic that his wife said (more or less) that some people who wouldn't have previously allowed him on their land now welcomed him with open arms since he became a 'celebrity', perhaps they are hoping for their five minutes of fame if they get on the box, I hope he has a long memory but he doesn't seem a person to bear a grudge so perhaps not

| | | re: Johny Kingdom Just had a shifty around the net to see if he has a fan club but sadly he doesn't although I doubt it won't be long until someone sets one up!!
JK badges would be cool, they could have "MY BADGE" or something written on them, i'd buy one.
Do you reckon he's going to stock any fish in his pond, surely if he wants kingfishers then he'll have to won't he? (Although not necessarily due to ducks and what not bringing eggs to the pond.) |

| | | re: Johny Kingdom Something Fred and Jonny have in common?
On one of Freds progs while praising a garage owner for his help the garage owner replied, ''But you didn't pay me.'' Which Fred quickly glossed over.
This weeks prog showed John praising ''A lovely man'' who answered him with ''You didn't pay me.''

| | | re: Johny Kingdom hmmm can someone show me how to do multiple quotes from different peoples replies in one post? ( i have asked before but still not been shown).
Anyway...hmmm...some slight twists and innacuracies going on here:
Witham...thats not entirely true, what his wife actually said was that Johnny is so happy now he has his OWN land as before some people previously didnt allow him on their land...but now he has his own he can do what he likes and stay up there as long as he wants.
Snowdrop...he was indeed over praising his friend whom was the first man to give him a hide or show him a hide...he kept telling him he was a lovely kind man to which the man replied " Do i pay you now?" which johhny replied " No you dont need to pay me..your a very kind man"
and thats a good point stewy...as we all know preferably no fish in a wildlife pond ( even native ones) but this is really more of a lake so as long as its not heaving with carp or whatever it may be ok...but i dont think he should 'stock' it but maybe if fish find their own way there and they will naturally then let it be.
