| | | Polar Bear Adventures I have found these programmes very interesting - I think Nigel Marven ranks up with Austin Stevens and the late Steve Irwin for presenting popular wildlife films from around the world aimed at a general audience. |

| | | Re: Polar Bear Adventures Yes, I particularly enjoyed seeing the Snowy Owl (in the second programme, I think) looking like a giant ball of snow sitting on top of a tree, also in the programme last night, the first flight of the Albatross chick - to be in the air for next five years after growing up on its own on the island and only being fed when the parent bird returns about once a week. |

We will be small groups on foot. Should be a fantastic experience.

| | | Re: Polar Bear Adventures you will get some great views of the aurora borealis (northern lights) if you go around september to october or march to april, thats when they occur most frequently. I spent a year in Canada travelling and my biggest regret was not visiting Churchill to see the polar bears and the aurora borealis. Money was an issue!! You will have a great time. |

Julie | Yeah, ditto! I remember a similar scene at chessington zoo. It was a good 25 year ago, but seeing those bears behaving in a stressed manner was so upsetting. I haven't been back since, though I have visited other wildlife parks, etc, though of course they didn't have any polar bears, (or any other type of bear). Still, love these type of programmes. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
