| | | The Genius of Photography Genius of Photography is a new six part series that starts this week at 9.00pm, Thursdays, on BBC4.
It's not wildlife related but I thought I'd mention it as I know there are one or two photographers on this site!
Plus they can't do a six part series on the history of photography and never mention wildlife, can they? Place your bets!

| | | Re: The Genius of Photography Just been looking at this on the BBC website and can't see any mention of where wildlife photography fits in. Still, should be a good watch as there is a distinct lack of photography shows. We're often just restricted to a few seconds on a gadget review show if a new camera comes out. |

| | | Re: The Genius of Photography Yep, thinking about it, I've been into photography almost a year now and I've never seen anything on TV about it I don't watch more than 4 hours of TV a week usually but I'd love to see some good technique, pic examples and equipment progs.

| | | Re: The Genius of Photography From the program synopses it looks like it's going to be more along the lines of a cultural history of photography, photos that changed the world, that sort of thing, rather than equipment and technique (for which there are countless magazines anyway!). Should be fairly inspirational though, which is what I always look for in a program (or book or magazine) about photography. It should make you want to get out and take photos!

| | | Re: The Genius of Photography Watched a trailer for it and every photo shown (apart from one atom bomb) was of people, a subject I tend to avoid for the most part. Although I do appreciate good portrait photos taken by the masters.

| | | Re: The Genius of Photography Just watched tonight's episode (missed last week's as I forgot to turn the digi box on). Very good but... A whole hour about war photographers and the name Don McCullin never mentioned. If Robert Capa was the best war photographer then Don McCullin was second. And if Robert Capa wasn't the best then Don McCullin was.
