Im glad someone agrees with me or at least also saw the far superior later show with Chris Packham...i will watch both progs weekly but for me its THIS one that is going to help me with my uni studies/degree...and yes...that was a killer line about the eastenders story line.
Oh and one last little dig...those who claim titmarsh was a wildlife lover pre gardener / presenter...lets not forget for the last ten years or more he was showing us all how to deck over our lawns...fill in beds with gravel...pave over old pathways...concrete this and that?...hmmmm.....not good for garden wildlife, songbirds...flash floods.
Oops i forgot to ask?...people keep asking if the prog is repeated which it clearly is on sunday night but is the Chris packham show repeated too? as my mother/uni class mates missed it and i havent stopped talking about it to ever since?

| | | Re: The Nature of Britain I thought it was good when CP showed the new bit of downs that had been created from the old winchester bypass and it looked great. That shows how things can be made beautiful again after there was 4 lanes of concrete and thousands of cars and lorries going up and down there every day. |

Still on BBC4, it's shown again on Sunday at 8.00pm.

one thing i'd like to see for nature programes (and sport for that matter) is a red button function to turn ff the commentary entirely - ok you can mute the sound but i'd like to be able to keep the natural background noise (and crowd at sporting events) but lose the often inane comentary

My only grumble is that we don't get the 10 minutes at the end on a Sunday, so have missed that. Look forward to the next show! |

I loved the mesmerising starling photography. A real spectacle.

much more gritty real footage...less emphasis on the cinema style cinematography and music score...and in 1 hour long show i learnt several new things...
It totally hammered home the message and highlighted the work of conservation organisations....
I am gutted it was on so late as i really feel THIS is the programme of the new bbc series people needed to see...thankfully its on at 10pm from now on directly after the nature of britain main show...i just hope everyone has cable/sky/digital and can get bbc4 i also hope these programmes will be included on the dvd set?
oh im smiling...it was a superb hour long program of great importance in my book...well done bbc...just wish it was on bbc1 directly after the main show ???
Dan | I managed to catch some of it when it was repeated earlier, I thought it was an excellent programme. Chris Packham was very knowledgable and enthusiastic.
And they showed one of my favourite local spots at the end, Hartland Moor, now I know a few more things for me to look for while I'm there

SO?....next week...i want you ALL to switch to BBC4 at 10pm right after titmarsh has finished doing his bit..for the REAL Nature of Britian!
I also echo the dissapointment that the Sunday repeat of the main show does NOT include the regional ten minutes/volunteering section at the end

Just to let people with Virgin cable know - last Wednesday's Nature of Britain is on '
Catch-Up TV on Demand'.

| | | Re: The Nature of Britain Mushy, sentimental, clap trap. Some good footage despite some of it being aired in previous documentaries. Comparable to a coffee table book. Did A. Tit. mention why those starlings put up a good performance - no- despite the raptor clearly mustering them into a bird bait ball. Farmer with a tie, new trousers, new wooden hide looking beautiful ?
Enjoy |
