Wainwright Country - Granada TV

Living in the NE of England, we don't get Wainwright Country up here, instead we get Out of Town, sometimes a good program but lately more bad than good.

Is there any way I could see the Wainwright Country programs, i.e repeated on some obscure national channels etc.

Heres hoping,

Darwin

Re: Wainwright Country - Granada TV

If you have sky you can self programme the ITV regional channels under the other channels button. I don't know if it is the same for lap top boxes.

Just googled it and found this plus a link to watch the programmes

WAINWRIGHT ON TV

Wainwright Country

A new series show on ITV1 Granada in which Fred Talbot explores the legacy of Alfred "Red" Wainwright whose centenary is celebrated in 2007.

Each programme explores a different volume of the seven classic Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. At the heart of each programme is to be one of Red’s favourite out of the way places –not just well known mountains but minor summits with great stories and spectacular views. In each programme Eric Robson chats to Fred about Wainwright’s challenge and achievement. Spectacular Skyworks aerials illustrate each programme.

The series has only been shown in the Granada area so far, but you can watch the episodes on-line at:

ITVLocal.com - Granada - News, Weather and Entertainment for North West England

Re: Wainwright Country - Granada TV

Many thanks for that SKY info, I can find all the ITV regional channels though apart from Granada-I wil have another look.

I also managed to find the Granada web page at about the same time as I noticed your reply so if I cannot get Granada on SKY, I will be able to download and watch the episodes on the PC.

Many thanks for your help

Re: Wainwright Country - Granada TV

If you have Freeview you can get Wainwright Walks on Sunday evenings at 10pm. *channel 9*

Have to agree about Out Of Town - it really is rubbish nowadays Why can't we have a programme about the natural history of the North-east - it's not as though there's not enough subject matter around to keep them going for umpteen programmes
