| | | Re: Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones Thanks for the reminder Kymba but I though the series was starting tonight with the mountains of north west Scotland.
You may be moving south too quickly .... something I always try not to do when returning from my annual trips to to the Scottish Highlands .
What ever is on tonight, I am sure that this will be an excellent series for those interest in the UK uplands.

| | | Re: Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones I thought it was Scotland too - but I shall enjoy them all regardless. Also a new seies of Wainwright Walks with Julia Bradbury follows it on BBC4 I think.

| | | Re: Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones Thanks for the reminder, Kymba. Sounds like it should be a good series - I certainly hope so, there's not been much worth watching on TV recently!
Now that BBC have lost the rights to 'Neighbours', I think they should replace it with twice daily episodes of 'Nature's Calendar'!

| | | Re: Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones Thoroughly enjoyable programme, I thought. Definitely a series to watch. I could have done with it being quite a bit longer - some of the sections seemed rushed to get it all in.
Didn't it make you glad you don't own and have responsibility for a historic castle? |

| | | Re: Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones Another excellent programme from the BBC, I hope the rest of the series is as good. I was a bit worried that Griff would make it to humorous, but his enthusiasm for the county side and views were great. All though I felt sorry for the receptionist in the hotel, he seemed to be trying to climb over the reception desk as he was talking to her.
£19 million to repair the castle, unbelievable.
With Mountain and coast already on the TV, what will be next? River perhaps!

| | | Re: Mountain with Griff Rhys Jones Been looking forward to this series ever since i found the book claiming to be the "Book of the ( as then unknown by me) BBC tv series Mountain ! ha ha
Really enjoyed it and i agree...any tv series/doc that really interests me i could do with them being at least 3 hours long each episode ha ha..
I agree he was trying to climb over the reception counter with the girl but quite frankly i would have too..she was cute.
Did u all note the poor castle chap ( 19 million ) died? there was a note at the end of the credits...i wonder what the situation is now with the castle and the mountain range ( I wish they told us how much the price was for the range? maybe WAB could have rustled up enough among us ha ha)
Switched to BBC4 after the prog ( which i presume we can do every sunday) to watch the new series of the excellent Wainwrights Walks too ...well done the beeb. |

The mountains are on sale for £10 million BBC News | SCOTLAND | Cuillins bidder reluctant to pay so with the current WAB membership if we all cough up just £950 we could buy them, and have money left over for wee ceilidh.

Or to make it fairer we could divide the £10million by the number of posts and then each member would multiply this number by the number of posts they have posted. Of course such members as GLSammy may disagree with over 8000 posts
It would beat just having a WAB badge.

BWD | Ok you lost me after the word "divide"...ill just stick to the £950 each ...much simpler. |
