| | | Tree ID - sorry no photo :( Went out for a walk today, enjoying the autumn sunshine. Many of the leaves had suddenly fallen here, due to the heavy rain and gales last week, but we came across a spectacular tree, still pretty much in full leaf, and the leaves were bright gold. It was absolutely beautiful. We have a 1 acre field and are gradually planting a few trees, and would love to have one of these, but not sure what it is.
Leaves were similar to a sycamore, but all the sycamores here have dropped already. It was absolutely huge, very symmetrical - rather like a child would draw a typical tree really. I'm assuming it is another maple? If so, which one, or are they all similar in their autumn display?
Any advice appreciated please.
Thank you |

Planted on its own, it can make the perfect shaped tree, and the leaves turn butter-yellow in the autumn. So very possible that's what it is.
My only other thought is a Tulip Tree - Liriodendron tulipifera. It has maple-like leaves which turn yellow, but it does not always make such a good shaped tree.
