| | White goo / funghi? on tree.... Hi, I was wondering if someone could identify this white goo stuff appearing on (and in!) the apple tree in my garden? Not sure whether to leave it or try to remove it? |

| | | Re: White goo / funghi? on tree.... Not 100% sure from these photo's but, I am almost certain this is the early formative stages of a bracket fungus.
Not a lot of point in trying to remove it as it will probbably re-appear. I personally would just enjoy watching it progress to maturity however if you are really botherd about it I would suggest cutting off the branch well back from the fruiting body of the fungus.
regards tn.
