| | | Re: Can someone ID this tree for me please It's definitely a pine, Pinus sp, but can't see from this photo whether it's our native Scot's Pine or one of the naturalised species, though suspect it could be the former. |

| | | Re: Can someone ID this tree for me please It does have the branching pattern, bark colouration and general form of a Scots Pine, agreed. But there's always a caveat with multi species groups that can look remakably similar. |

| | | Re: Can someone ID this tree for me please You would need to look at its needles and measure them plus where was it growing any chance its near the coast as I have a vague feeling it may be Maritime Pine? |

| | | Re: Can someone ID this tree for me please While you are there check the grouping of needles, most are in pairs although there are other configurations. Images of green and last years cones, basal and upper trunk bark would be good, too. |

| | | Re: Can someone ID this tree for me please I'm still thinking along the lines of Scots Pine. The tree is a bit of a "Wolf", with irregular and asymetric branching habit. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
