| | | What be the name of this Tree? Could someone identify this tree please, it has appeared through a small gap in between 2 fence panels, tree identification is not my forte.
also would it be possible to move this tree at this time of year to give it some breathing space?
thanks

| | | Re: What be the name of this Tree? It looks like a seedling ash tree with the black buds and leaflets. you could move it now but water it in well. Do you really want it, as it will grow quite large for a garden!

| | | Re: What be the name of this Tree? Yup, definitely ash (fraxinus excelsior). Wouldn't bother moving it, would try and yank it out before it turns into the biggest tree in the world. If you really want the biggest tree in the world, in your garden, then dig out the root from around 50cm around it. Stick the relocated sapling straight into a prepared hole with minimal time in contact with the air. It'll probably be fine. If your garden is only small though and you really want a tree, perhaps get a rowan as this won't shade out your entire county and it provides berries for birds. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
