Tree/shrub ID confirmation, please

Hi, all.

I photographed a small tree/large shrub in flower (no leaves as yet) in a hedgerow near Inkpen, west Berkshire, at the weekend. I'd not come across anything like it before... After checking my books at home I've identified it as Cornelian cherry, Cornus mas. I'd appreciate confirmation or alternative suggestions.

You are right it is Cornelian Cherry

It's certainly Cornelian-cherry; I'd be very grateful if you were able to provide some precise directions

I should be in the area this weekend, at Virginia Water to catch up with a few Narcissus species, and I'd definitely like to see it

Davidbr - I've checked my walk route on the map to try to pin down exactly where I saw these shrubs. I'm pretty sure that they were in a hedgerow that runs along the northern edge of a minor road leading southwest to Hell Corner, just east of Inkpen. On OS Explorer map 158 (Newbury & Hungerford, Lambourn & Kintbury), map reference SU 386643.

This is a walk I do fairly regularly with friends, so next time I'm in the neighbourhood I'll check it out and give a confirmation of location. Have a nice trip Narcissus-spotting at Virginia Waters!
