| | | Tree id
Does anyone recognise this tree. I've only got pictures of the leaves so far. This tree is quite common in weston super mare but can't find it in my book.
Thanks,
Paul |

| | | Re: Tree id Hello Pabs,
Western -s -Mare, being on the coast, has a population of salt tolerant trees, such as Holm oak, sycamore etc. Numerous conifers are coastal tolerant, but of the broadleaves there are only a few. I have researched salt tolerant trees in the past and would be interested to hear which broadleaf trees do well around you. That goes for anyone living along the coast of Britain.
Best regards

| | | Re: Tree id Hi Besnard,
I've started learning about tree's this year to help with my mothing so not really an expert at the moment. Having said that I have been able to identify some trees in and around Weston. Sand Point and Brean Down are land points surrounding Weston and contain mainly hawthorn and sycamore. Sand Point also has some Alder. So far in Weston Woods I've identified Holly, Western Hemlock, Oak, Elm, Wych Elm and Holm Oak. Ashcombe Park has so be Horse Chestnut plus a few Scots Pine.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Tree id Just thought I'd add buckthornes. Surprised no one has mentioned them. They are commonly used as low screening along the Kentish coast, and are attractive for gardens with silvery leaves and showy orange berries. |
