Somebody has asked me to try to identify this tree - sorry, this is the only photo they've given me. Apparently it's near the waterfall of Aira Force in the Lake District.

Looks a little bit like a Monkey Puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana) though it won't surprise me if I am completely wrong

I'd go along with that Ron. Looks very similar to the trunk in the image sunnydale posted of a tree in Chatsworth Park for ID. |

It looks like the foot (complete with claws) of a giant dinosaur or dragon....
