Oak or Ash?

Just a bit of fun to see if there is any truth in this piece of folklore about the amount of rainfall for the coming year:-

Ash leaves before the Oak,
We're going to have a soak,
Oak leaves before the Ash,
We''ll only have a splash.

Around here it looks as though the Oak will be out first, many have that russety-pinky look, whereas the Ash buds are still very black!

It's usually the Ash before the Oak up here, mind you the Horse Chestnut has leaves before both of them, as does the Hawthorn, which is usually one of the first
