I think this is Common Larch - Larix decidua 
Or is there something else with red young cones? |

I'd agree - it's Larch. European Larch (Larix decidua)

If you can find a couple of last years cones and post a pic for WaBers, you might get a different diagnosis. The young female cones look more like Japanese Larch to me with their squatter appearance and reflexed scales. However, hybrid larch could be in the frame. |

They're good additional pics and I'm pretty sure that it is European Larch. |
