Alder for ID please

Does anyone know if this young tree is Alnus glutinosa or another species?

Looks to me like Alnus rubra - Red Alder, well the fruit does anyway

I think , more likly Alnus glutinosa if you look here, it matches pretty well. Alnus glutinosa

Also since its more native then rubra , and the surroundings of the photos you provided look like a typical woodland setting, and not a garden. It appears to have just self seeded in an open area, natural re-generation working as normal .

Hi, I suspect it was planted, but I also suspect that this was with a view to wildlife conservation (in an area with other native species, near a nature reserve).
