| | | Re: Ancient Trees of the U.K - where to find ifo on their location If you go to Ripley you will not be far from the beautiful Nidderdale AONB-they also have an ancient tree project as well as a great sweet shop in Pateley bridge! |

The photos don't really do them justice as you cant really get an idea of size from them, but they are pretty big!!
As already mentioned, Thomas Pakenham's 'Meeting with Remarkable Trees' is a great compilation of interesting trees around the uk, would thoroughly recommend it! Some of the trees are pretty hard to find though, I never did find the one made famous by the Tolpuddle Martyrs! (I must have been in the wrong place completely because I'm sure it would be well marked!) |
