This tree is found on a reclaimed slag-tip site in the north east of England. I therefore assume that it has been planted. As you can see from the picture, the seeds are quite striking. I would like to know a bit more about it. Its identity would be a good place to start.

On first glance that looks like a Laburnum - Laburnum anagyroides, yellow hanging flowers, commonly planted but it is poisonous. Ash has similar seeds, but the photo is more bush like which is typical Laburnum. |

Laburnum-
beautiful chocolate coloured heartwood with rays which look good when quarter-cut, and pale sapwood. Cut it down and make something! |
