tree identification help needed
Hi folks
Can anyone help me with id for this tree planted in my parkland prob by capability brown some years ago. Is it poss a tupelo - black gum? I couldn't see any sign of fruits but the leaves are quite crowded.

Looks like a Magnolia to me, the hairy buds are quite distinctive. It will look fantastic in the spring when flowering.
