Please help me ID this tree..

Hello all..

I've just moved into a house in rural Fife, Scotland and am trying to identify all the plantlife. I've tried in vain for a couple hours to ID this tree online, so I wonder if you would be so kind as to help me.

Any idea what this is? I don't know what sort of flower it produces.

You probably failed because this isn't really a tree- this is Ivy + these are the very young fruits on what is often the arboreal part of the plant. The leaves on this "arboreal" part are different to the regular climbing/trailing leaves. The late flowers are a magnet to insects + Holly blue larvae feed on these buds.

As the fruits ripen birds such as Blackcaps + Wood Pigeons will take them.

yeah its the buds of ivy. the shrub with shiny leaves that climbs over everything

That's incredible! It's completely swallowing the poor Hawthorn next to it.
