| | Cherry Tree ID Please? I'm new to this, and my partner thought this might be a wild cherry tree, the leaves dont seem right to me, but hey what do I know, just want to double check

| | | Re: Cherry Tree ID Please? I'm not sure, but I've just seen a picture of the leaves of a cherry tree - I think the leaves of the cherry tree are straight, whereas yours break into networks at the end.
I could be wrong though, someone should be able to help you more soon |

| | | Re: Cherry Tree ID Please? It is Cherry Laurel, Prunus laurocerasus- though it is in the same genus as Cherry, so you weren't that far out, though this shrub so beloved of Victorian gardeners is an evergreen, unlike the proper cherries- but don't eat it!
Entomologists have used the young crushed leaves as a killing agent as it contains cyanide compounds (prussic acid) for many years (probably not so many use it now). |
