Beech Tree Repair

This tree, which is in my local wood had a hollow base, which some youths used to build a fire in. The council repaired it recently - using, sand, cement and stone. The only beech tree with a built in stone dyke wall.

I thought this sort of mentality to hollow trees had gone out of fashion with the Victorians. Give your Council a huge slap on the wrist and ask if they can refrain from doing it to other trees, fire or no.

Sounds like they did it to stop the local yobs setting fire to it again.
