Hello,
We were wondering if anyone could be able to help us identify this tree in our front garden. The birds absolutely love it, so we were hoping to plant another one in the back. I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but it looks nothing like anything we have viewed on the web, although we wondered if it was related to holly??
The tree is about 30ft high, and is in a spot where it receives gentle sun for much of the day (Manchester weather permitting!!).

Hi - I'd reckon its Holly! Can be confusing as the upper leaves are often without the prickly edges that you expect to see. (And it looks like it could be Laurel bottom right below it) |

Agree it's a Holly, possibly Highclere Holly, Ilex x altaclerensis. |

Holly Tree and bottom right is Laurel

The close up is NOT Laurel; as the poster clearly says it's a close-up of the TREE!! which he wants identified, which is a Highclere Holly! | | | |
