| | | Tree Ident Hi All,
Can anyone come up with a name for this exotic we have growing in our nature reserve car park. The best I can come up with is Toona sinensis Chinese Toon Tree (formerly Chinese Cedar) but the leaflets are too many and don't look quite right structurally.
The tree
The bark
The buds
The leaf - compared to a normal sized drink can
The leaflet structure. Note how it is lobed like elms. Average of 12 pairs of leaflets, but did find ones with up to 16 pairs.
Many Thanks,
Adam |

Paul | Wish I knew - I have a mature tree overhanging my garden and another two very close by. Several more are planted in surrounding streets. If it's not seedlings and suckers coming up in the garden then it is some awful smell or other coming from it. It is one of the few plants I truly dislike. |

Paul | One site I read up on says it smells like old peanut butter.
Cheers,
