| | | Famous Trees This large Oak Tree near to where I live is the Oak that Agatha Christie is reported to have picnic'd under in the summers she was at her home. She lived very close by.
Does anyone else have any famous (by association) Trees that they have pics of?

| | | Re: Famous Trees I don't have any pictures (except in the book 'The Heritage Trees of Britain and Northern Ireland'), but the Sycamore the 'Martyrs' met beneath in 1834, still stands in the village of Tolpuddle in Devon.

| | | Re: Famous Trees Again, no pictures but when I visited Scotland a couple of years ago we visited the old Yew in Fortingall. It's apparently the oldest living organism in Britain, estimated at least 3000 years old.

About five minutes away we have the Barnes Plane. I beleive that it is one of the largest Plane trees in Europe. I will take some pics and post when I am next there.
