| | | Why do people do this? I think I would end up in the chokey if I ever came into contact with these three characters; BBC NEWS | England | Coventry/Warwickshire | Duck shot in head with crossbow
Can anyone tell me what drives these morons to behave like this?

| | | Re: Why do people do this? its because they are .... well i cant say what i really think they are but shall we say because they are deeply pathetic individuals with no real bottle who want to make out that they are manly when in fact they are deeply inadequate - Oh he shot a duck , i am impressed
i also do feel that there ought to be tighter controls on crossbow sales - the current situation where virtually anyone over the age of 14, and thats assuming that they check the age at all, can buy one is patently ridiculous

| | | Re: Why do people do this? thats bad , but at least its kind of understandable - though most people prefer to go to tescos
the kids with the duck by all accounts just did it for the crack, and that is just totally brainless - i'd like to stuff his crossbow right up......

They are not particularly effective as a 'one shot kill' weapon for hunting as is evident by the amount of news stories over the last few years relating to badly injured animals with a bolt through the head or neck which have not been killed outright and left to suffer.
I am a real softie when it comes to my pet animals, but I am realistic enough to understand that some people enjoy hunting (not hunting with hounds) and usually eat the meat they have killed. Providing they do it cleanly and quickly I can accept it, but this would rarely happen with a crossbow. It strikes me it's just another idiot idea from across the Atlantic...
