Re: Would you believe my luck

Aww Ollie - only just found this thread (off work for two weeks myself) and I sympathise. Seems we could all be members of the 'bad back club' if we weren't wabbers?!

With me its my left side from a nasty car accident back in '92 and a motorcycle accident in
'84. . . the damage is now begining to show despite many years of physio and recently accupuncture. I've been on pain killers for a couple of years but they are now damaging the rest of my ecconomy. . . think its called old age creeping in! Limping and favouring my right ankle has led to pressure and overuse in left hip. . .

I've found out that I'm a lot better and in a lot less pain if I don't eat any sugar. . . easier said than done as I have a sugar craving - I'm a real junky for chocolate . . . But its really sunk home with me this time - laid in bed staring at the ceiling - and I've decided no amount of sweeties is worth that! I just have to remember that when I'm back at work and folk are bringing tins of toffees and thankyou biscuits. I wish someone would invent a drawbridge for the mouth which closes and locks whenever goodies get within hand reach!!!

The results from the new lens are stunning - love the collared dove. I'm sure you will soon be out and about again just in time for the improving weather and light and if you plan it right there are lots of places where birds are being fed within reach of parked cars so your photography could go along with your reccuperation!

Pauline

Interesting about the sugar, PMG.
I'll investigate that, if I can be strong enough!
This site if full of predominantly left handed people with bad backs! I wonder what our birth signs are? And all sorts of other data?

Bad left foot very badly torn ligaments has never got better and still causes pain, painful left shoulder caused by working at at Tescos was operated on but has never got better.Whiplashed neck, in a car accident (where my sister was taken from me)which is also mainly on the left so the shoulder and neck aggravate each other.Oh and a bad back which have had for years which now and then will suddenly go into spasm Caused by 5 weighty babies .
Oh I am right handed Have you noticed most of my pain is all on the left

Hi Roger,

Sorry to hear that you have been laid up with a bad back. I hope it wont be too long before you are up and about, armed with that new 400 mm lens. I also hope that we'll soon see some pics taken with it up on WAB.

Cheers and get well soon.

John
