Amazing, yes, but what's the point of making something so small that no-one can see it?

I see Jenny's point. One of these strange human activities - doing the impossible, improbable and unnecessary. We're impressed by it because it's so skillful and so difficult to see.... but, if it were larger would we want to see it?
It's like those miniature paintings that you can see in the V&A - are you looking at them as works of art or as tricks? Fascinating but futile?
