(just for clarity i am talking about this thread - not the add 5 words one) | Well said that man! I second that.

| | | Re: How to bump up posts Not something that anyone really needs to get too emotive about. At the end of the day, its up to the mods to choose whether we close a thread or not.
It's true that in the past we've had some big problems with members posting identical posts, virtually cutting and pasting more than 300 times over the course of a couple of months to get their post count up. However, I've pretty much ignored this thread as I don't think the members are looking to get their post counts up.
We've had some bizarre threads that we let run for a while, but then we've had to stop them once they continually stop other ones from getting a look in.
Moderating obviously involves keeping things in moderation and everyone has their own limits as to what should/shouldn't be allowed on the forums. One thread like this may be OK, but what about ten more, or what if the thread was all about Man Utd? On the other hand, it's great to see members meeting and chatting away on these types of threads.
As eeyore mentioned, if anyone doesn't like the way the forum is going then simply use the 'report post' button and the mods will take a look at it.
Life' s too short to get wound up by any of this and it's good to see that, whilst there's disagreement, everyone has at least been a lot more civil than you'd find on most sites However, as it looks like everything has now been said on the topic I'll now close this thread before it gets to 'handbags at dawn'
