Who's eggs are they?

I was digging in the garden today and shifted a few old twigs and bits out of the way and found under them what I think are some eggs. They were a pale white in colour - almost translucent. They must have measured approx 2mm across and were almost perfect spheres and looked like tiny beads rather than eggs. Assuming they are eggs, what did they come from?

I would say probably snails, Madelinew.
I may be wrong, I'm no expert, but I've seen snail eggs like those sound.

Sounds like slugs or snails. I think they look the same.

Phew it doesn't matter that I accidentally trampled on them then........

They were next to my new veg patch - like stepping on 5 snail eggs will dent the population......
