He's certainly going to catch some sea if those breakers are as big as they look

Re: And they say Twitchers are crazy...

Oh, why would you do that?
Go to the fishmonger's and stop showing off!
I expect it's attention-seeking behaviour. You know the sort of thing-
"If you won't get me my tea now, I'm going to go out and catch myself a fish to eat. It's raining, and the sea's really rough, but don't you worry.....
I'm going now then......
Bye......"

Re: And they say Twitchers are crazy...

Up until about 15 years ago I was a very keen sea fisherman.

I used to go out reguarly on Charter boats from Whitby, Bridlington, Filey etc... as well as spending countless hours Beachcasting on the beaches of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk & Suffolk.
Its fantastic fun and I have many fantastic memories and stories, here's just a very small taste but I have far too many to bore you all to death with here.

I have fished on beaches when it has been so cold that the sea spray has frozen to everything it touches, I've been knocked over by very large waves whilst trying to land fish on the beach, I have seen a man hook a passer by in the head with a set of Cod hooks (ouch )
I once saw a very big burley steelworker from Sheffield get so sea-sick on a charter trip that he threw up and lost his false teeth over the side of the boat then lay crying in the boat bottom for the remaining 4 hours of the trip!

The only downside to it all was the very noticeable decline in fish numbers over the years, it became near on impossible to catch any quality fish from many of the beaches and the off-shore fishing was also going downhill rapidly.
I eventually gave it up for this reason along with the fact that I wanted to spend more time with my young family.

Then I got interested in Wildlife photography and look what happened!!

Great stuff!! The colder and rougher the weather the better " i say ".

Have been keen as mustard for many a year, wont eat fish unless i have caught it myself.
Love fishing Aberthaw, great tides.

Picture Was Taken Using A Telephoto Lens Which Exaggerates The Size Of Background Compared With Foreground Objects - But Bearing That In Mind, It Still Looks A Bit Worrying.
