| | | What's the WAB crew up to this weekend? We've got quite a full programme for the weekend but we may try to squeeze Rainham Marshes in.
What's your plans? Anything fun?

I plan to be up at the crack of sparrows to see if I can catch a sunrise on the mountains

Stu | You'll be lucky Stu with what the weather forecast is predicting.
I am playing it by ear for this weekend. I haven't planned anything. I feel sure if I do go out I won't go far as the roads here are still treacherous. Going to some of these small reserves might be out of the question as access might be limited and stopping on roads other than main roads to check out local woods etc might be a tad bit dangerous also.

more of the same tommorow but it better go better, If I have another day like to day I'm going to sulk
edit - and finally my plan of relaxing in a hot bath with a cold beer has been stymied by the total lack of hot water and the fact that there is no beer in the fridge

| | | Re: What's the WAB crew up to this weekend? and for an encore today I slid the work van ( Nissan 4x4) into a drainage ditch , from where it took us an hour and a half to extricate it , and I smacked the back end on a tree in the process -
Some days it just isnt safe to get out of bed - I think I will hibernate until the nice weather comes

I suppose we had better ask where you are going to be next weekend Pete - then stay well clear of that area.

Are you a regular at Chimney Meadows or was it just a day visit, I only ask as I've been volunteering down there for about 2 years and no one there admits to have heard of WAB. It's an amazing site and the work that the trust and the volunteers are putting in is paying off with some excellent results already. Hopefully it will open to the public in May sometime. I know it was incredibly wet down there although because of work getting in the way I’m unable to attend any of the work parties for a while.
What were your thoughts on the site and the programme to transfer it from farmland to wetland meadow?
