| | | Wild About Britain - Access all areas I wonder if many of you have taken a look at the other areas within WAB e.g. Reference section lately. Having been on holiday for a while, I've just been taking a look at how things are shaping up, and the amount of information we are gathering is marvellous. Thanks to all who have contributed, and please keep your input coming. |

All of the new reference section - www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/nature - includes the new login features so now it's even easier to add your own content.
If you click on the 'Mammals' link, you'll see a list of current mammal topics in the mammals book. To start your own topic - i.e. bats - just click on the 'add child page' link and this'll bring up a blank form that you can use to start a chapter about bats or any other mammals topic.
On this first page you'll need to add a title like 'How to find your local bats' and add some info in the 'body' as an intro to your topic - then save it by clicking on the 'submit' button.
When you view the page, you'll see another 'add child page' link, click on that, add some info and save it. You can then add another page to the first one or the second and soon you'll be creating a book all about your chosen topic with chapters, sub-chapters etc.
Take a look at the Buying Binoculars pages in the Extra > Buying Guides menu to get some idea of you can start to put pages together into books.
Essentially, this allows all members to create booklets of info about any wildlife-related topic. The books can also be edited by any other member so that you can collaborate together - an we save every addition/edit so that we can roll-back to an earlier version if something is accidentally deleted.
So choose a topic or ten and feel free to start writing. It can be an equipment review, photography tips, buying guide, activity guide, info about your local nature reserves, clubs etc, etc - virtually anything related to British wildlife. If you're not sure where to start a new book or you think we could do with adding a new section then just give us a shout and we'll get it up and running.
Cheers

| | | Re: Wild About Britain - Access all areas You know - the more I rummage around this place the more I feel like jumping in and contributing all I can.
I still have a lot of past photographs to contribute - so that will be my focus for now. After that I'll see what else I can do to help this place grow & thrive!
