If it's only a few months old I'd be inclined to get on the phone to the manufacturer and make some very loud noises until you get a replacement.

fingers crossed for the remaining six weeks gill - still look on the brightside it could be worse my best mate from college, ben, is in the marines and is out there in helmand somewhere, where he will be stuck for at least another 6 months - his girlf is going spare cos she hasnt heard from him for over 2 months - they dont have phone home facilities out in the boonies.

Oh I know i have it relatively easy i think he's only going to be in the scary bit for about ten days plus 3000 people die on the roads in the UK every year - soooo technically I'm probably at greater risk driving to work - and he loves his work - most of them do it's anything other than dull that's for sure!!

very true - goes without saying that i'll have my fingers crossed for him and for all our boys out there, but we better leave the subject there as stu aint going to thank either of us for igniting a debate about the afghan situation

talking of odds, i've just found out that there are 1800 fatal or major injuries from tree work each year and the odds of someone in my field of work having one are worse than 1/120
