Exclamation A response to Cornwallbadgers

After a heated exchange in this thread I withdrew from the debate to prevent a flame war. After being away last week, I logged in yesterday to find Roger (Cornwallbadgers) had taken upon himself to try and discredit me by posting a link to a pro hunting forum that I also frequent (also knowing full well that the majority here will oppose hunting and therefore turn against me) simply because I don't subscribe to his point of view and he seems to have me guilty by association . I have nothing to hide, yes I am pro hunting and yes I also subscribe to a pro hunting forum. I don't hide behind a pseudonym, my forum name is my real name, the pic in my avatar is a pic of me and I'm not ashamed of my support for hunting, though my main hunting is rat hunting and that is why I subscribe to a hunting forum.
Though it may seem a paradox that I can be both pro hunting and a lover of wildlife, that is what I am. I can enjoy a day out taking in the wildlife around me and I also can enjoy a days ratting or Rabbit shooting or hunting.

Roger please feel free to educate me, but don't simply attack me and try and throw mud in the hope some will stick, simply because I don't subscribe to your particular opinion. As an aside the original thread has some interesting reading now, comments of which I am taking on board.

To quote StuDH "Remember, that we usually only learn from those people that disagree with us."

I have posted this here to keep it out of the original thread and so as not to detract from the original topic.

Re: A response to Cornwallbadgers

Regretably we've just had to ban Cornwallbadgers from posting in the forums.

It's something that we tried to avoid, but we make it quite clear in the forum rules that we will not tolerate insults and personal attacks on other forum members. Unfortunately, having issued a number of warnings following posts during the past few days, it only resulted in us becoming the target via PMs.

We're happy to keep the main bulk of cornwallbadger's posts in the forum, but will remove all personally offensive content.

It's a sad day and this is a first for us, but hopefuly it's something that we won't have to deal with again.

Stuart

Re: A response to Cornwallbadgers

What a shame it had to come to this. I'll have to admit I was quite enjoying my robust discussion with cornwall Badgers over on the 'should Badgers be killed?' thread. Did feel like banging my head against a wall on a couple of occasions though. The man obviously had a passion for his subject whatever anyone else thought of his views, but this does highlight the danger of being too single-minded especially on a forum with such a wide ranging remit.

Re: A response to Cornwallbadgers

I'm sorry Roger felt so strongly that he had to be offensive in this thread. It wasn't meant to rile him, I just wanted to defend my position. I don't know exactly what he wrote, I just got email notification of his replies and when I logged in the posts were missing.

On a lighter note I've enjoyed reading the other posts in this thread (Hunting) and realised that not everyone is against my pro hunting stance. I believe there is room for everyone whatever their views and a little tolerance goes a long way.
