Webcam Check please

I've just placed a wireless webcam near some feeders and need to check if it can be accessed and controlled remotely, The link is http://photosbykev.viewnetcam.com
username panasonic
password is password

You will have to accept an activex component from the camera and then select Single to drive it around

Thank you Geoff The link will be up and down for awhile as I need to sort out the housing for the camera. Did you try to move the camera around?

Yes no problems, up down left and right....

However, I'd get that ladder put away if I was you, and your grass needs cutting.

Re: Webcam Check please

Kev what happens if more than one person is trying to move the camera at the same time?

Oh Yeah.... Go outside and give us a wave.

Re: Webcam Check please

Hmm - not working for me, but as no-one else seems to have had any difficulties that looks like the problem must be my end rather than yours. It didn't ask me to accept anything from the camera.

Then all hell lets loose and you can fight for control lol. I just had to do a quick mod to give the pan movement a touch more clearance from the arcylic window. Tomorrow I'll fit a rain hood to it lol

First time in it will take a while smarties as the activex component comes directly from the webserver built into the camera. After that first connection it will be much quicker

I saw you..... Try not to jiggle it about it made me feel sick.

The pan buttons seem to have disappeared but you can still move it with the mouse.

Theres a bit of reflection of the house since you put the window on, this might be cured with the rain hood though.

Other than that.....Top Effort

It's only housed in a modifed sandwich box lol. I'll black out the inside of the box tomorrow that will reduce the reflections

Re: Webcam Check please

I tried it earlier and got nowhere.. have just tried it and although I couldnt see anything other than an occasional blob it was clear that the camera was panning etc according to my instructions.

I forget Kev. Are those bays on the east or west of the island. I used to live at RAF Valley.

Re: Webcam Check please

It works okay for me, but it would be better if it was not dark outside

Is this cam in a different location to the last one I tried (from a previous thread)? I thought you lived in Gloucestershire?

Jenny

Hi Kev, it works for me!! I am amazed, the wonders of modern science eh?
(Hm that reminds me of a joke.) I will have another look tomorrow, nothing much today apart from a sparrowhawk eating a goldcrest. Jon
