Had a great day today, another first for me - a blackcap, Also saw 3 Sparrowhawks,one of them landed on a fence two feet to the side of me, I froze so as not to startle it and just enjoyed the pleasure of its company for a few mins then to my delight a Fox appeared in front of me whilst I was in a hide, then a few minutes later I heard a rustle to the left of me and another, much smaller Fox was sat a few feet away!! Dont you just love days like these when the wonder and pleasure of nature surrounds you? Saw so many things today, squirrels, Fieldfares, Redwings, Long Tailed Tits etc etc

I am still glowing from the encounters!!

I on the other hand had to watch my fellow students lay a hedge while i just watched, took photo's and notes as i have severe tennis elbow
Although i have been on a hedge laying course previous so i wasnt missing out too much...but still frustrating.

Sounds like a fantastic day, Mandy! I know just what you mean, it is amazing how much joy can be obtained from just sitting and watching the wonders of nature.

I spent yesterday feeling really fluey and rough but at least I was able to sit and watch the birds on the feeders which was some consolation, plus I got out of going to work.
