Re: Twizzle!

Good morrow, Mr Mabbott.

Still settling in but coming along swimmingly, thankees for asking.

Found a two-spot ladybird in the bathroom this week so hoping for great things this summer (or at least something! ).

Re: Twizzle!

I hope you're keeping the record, my dear!
At least you haven't been snowed in or (you would have mentioned it!) flooded.
Congratulations on your "promotion" and hope all stays well,
Paul

Re: Twizzle!

congratulations Officer Susie. Glad you are settling in your new home. There is always a lot to be done after a move. Almost as much as before dont you think?

Re: Twizzle!

Thank you for the congratulations, it is very kind of you, but I really don't deserve them. All I have done is spout drivel so far.

Mind you, it makes the rest of you look good.

I have settled in well but there is still lots more to do, Jaki. How are things going you end? I shall PM you.

Re: Twizzle!

Well, there are other priorities!
How are the kith and kin taking the change of habitat?
One of the reasons we shifted to Yorkshire was to give the lads open air, green spaces &c &c ..... Was it worth the effort? As soon as they're offered university courses, they're back off to the Smoke!

Re: Twizzle!

It was certainly worth the move, but we are hardly out in the wilds. I have everything here that I had in London, but the environment is far more convivial and the countryside is beautiful. No wonder Horsham was voted one of the best places to live in the UK!

My only criticism is that I wish we lived somewhere a bit more rural, rather than on a modern estate, albeit in a village, but the house we live in is perfect for our needs and it is impossible to have everything (on my budget at least!).

The kids and my better half love it here too. The two little ones have settled straight into school and made loads of friends. The eldest is making friends at her new high school too but misses her old friends alot, it doesn't help that she has been unwell since new year and missed a lot of school.

Ever since she was tiny my eldest has wanted to be a vet and she is exceptionally good at maths and science so it is a possiblity (don't know where she got it from, certainly not her mum!) - I'm saving for that University course already!

I take it you think moving to Yorkshire was worth it?

Re: Twizzle!

I think that the poll showed Barnsley to be the preferred place for moving - that's soon to be a suburb of Sheffield so understandable. And, of course, moving to South Yorkshire is what any sensible person would want to do - I only move again with the wooden overcoat!

I wish you the best of luck with the funding ...... I'll say no more, it's so depressing ... Especially when I think back to my degrees and other qualifications - all paid for by the state - as were the qualifications of the politicians who have now imposed an enormous financial burden on the next generation ... growl, go outside, search for squirrel to kick .....

Best sign off before I become really angry!
They'll do okay!
