| | | Coat of Arms If you could have a coat of arms made for your family, what species of animals, birds, insects etc would you have on it? I suppose you could include things like a bike, camera and mothtrap etc too.
I'd have a bat, a dragonfly, Adonis butterfly and a sketching pencil.
For me they stand for wild, majestic, rare and a written or drawn message.
Jules
What about yours then? (keep it child friendly! )

| | | Re: Coat of Arms A red dragon, rampant, for female fire and power.
A flaming phoenix with spread wings representing creativity and inspiration.
A red kite for clarity of vision.
And a couple of Badgers at the bottom, representing strength behind serenity.
What about a motto?

| | | Re: Coat of Arms Hi Jules
I think I,d opt for a sexy raincoat and a thistle.
As the great philosopher Billy Connolly said there's no such thing as bad weather,
just bad clothes. So bye yourself a sexy raincoat and get out there and live
a little. The thistle would be for....thistle do for a coat of arms |

What about a motto? | Very Harry Potter!
I'd have a ram or goat for my star sign/chinese sign. A wolf or dog of some kind (just because I love dogs) erm..have to think about the rest

| | | Re: Coat of Arms Given my original and married family names I'd have to have a Robin and a bow and arrow (theme developing here? ), then I could have a tiger in memory of my father (his and my favourite animal) and a worm in memory of my mother. Whenever she was crossed she threatened to go down the garden and eat some - I was always disappointed as a child that she never did!! |

| | | Re: Coat of Arms My grandfather did lots of research into the family history, and used a coat of arms that he believed he was entitled to. My father went to the College of Heralds to establish this link, but it appears that at one vital point in the family tree one ancestor had no 'legitimate' offspring, so I can't use the coat of arms. But it's still on my grandfather's bookplates!
