StuDh would it be possible to have the gallery as a slideshow option,there are so many good images that they ought (I feel)to be shown to greater advantage

Hi nightshade,

We've actually got the feature already integrated in the gallery, but at the moment it's switched off.

The problem with slideshows is that they change photos every few seconds, but if the viewer is using dialup or even less than 1MB broadband, some of the pictures won't have loaded completely before the next one suddenly appears. It's one of the reasons why we try to keep the filesize of gallery pictures down to a minimum, but even so, they're usually too big for dialup.

Another problem with the slideshow is that it doesn't record the number of views on each picture and people are less likely to leave comments/ratings.

That said, it has been a while since we last used it and there may be some updates to the system that'll show the pics more efficiently, so I'll have a look at it again.

Thank you StuDH broadband is so cheap nowdays,compared with some dial up services,that I had not considered that point.would it be possible to get some sort of deal through the site or does anyone know of a really good broadband supplier with a good rate? there is also a software speed enhancer
that has a very big following from dial up users who cannot get broadband

Hi nightshade, to go off topic slightly, it's not a question of whether or not broadband is affordable, it's a question of whether it's available in a persons' area.

Perhaps this is a good topic for a new thread...?
