In early December a number of members were put in the sin bin or warned that they would be banned from the site for repeatedly creating problems behind the scenes. Despite presenting a fairly respectable front on the forum, they appear to have taken sport in creating problems via PM. In most cases, these problems continued for many months.
In essence, they were trying to see how far they could push the boundaries, wind up other members, swear in posts, continually bump their threads to the top of the forum, collude to create or sustain problem threads, encourage other members to break the rules or ignore and antagonise the moderators etc. The list goes on and on, and there is a lot more that I could add, but I’d have to sift through hundreds of PMs in the backup drives.
I’m not suggesting that any one member did all of the above, but it should go some way to explaining why half a dozen members haven’t been around for a while.
Of course, this should come as no surprise to some of the members who have posted in this thread, as they have been in contact with some of the above by PM/email for a long time, including very recently. Some have also been part of the problem and have been warned or been on the receiving end of complaints by other members, moderators and ‘unofficial moderators’ as they put it.
However, as they’re not the ring leaders, I’m willing to accept that they are largely innocent and unaware of what has really been going on. I would guess that they are probably unaware of how they have been used by the above and at best I think that they will have only heard one side of a very long story.
To this end, and partly because I’m far too busy to deal with this sort of thing, I’m willing to let it all blow over and just get on with the real subject of this site, but clearly that's difficult to do if this thread keeps being bumped up again and again.
It’s a great shame that, despite having so many fantastic contributors on this forum, a select few have chosen to try and wreck the site.
Most members are well aware that they can contact other members via PM, even if they haven’t posted for a while. So I think it’s time to stop the pretence that this thread needs to remain to contact friends that can be contacted/or are already being contacted privately.
I’ll now close the thread, but you’re welcome to contact any missing members by PM. Hopefully this will finally put a stop to the ridiculous situation, if not then I guess that sin binning and banning will have to return.
Here's hoping that we can now see the site get back to wildlife and the environment and say goodbye to the politics, egos, conspiracies and arguments that a few members have consistently tried to create.
Stu
Edit - this post isn't in reply to any particular post in the thread. | Hello,
Just to clarify, as my name had been mentioned in the above thread, I left WAB voluntarily late last year due to continued victimisation of myself and others by someone with a big presence on this site, and a growing dissillusionment with the way the forum was being run. I was not banned (as my post here proves).
The person who I refer to above had shown 'previous' and also seemed free to post what can only be called 'flame' posts without any sanction from the moderators of this board (with the exception of posts being removed when he had gone too far). For this reason I decided that it would be wise to disassociate myself from this forum and its warped internal politics.
So, happy new year to everyone, and a more public goodbye to all, sorry it had to end this way-this forum showed such promise too.
PS: Read this quick, it'll surely be deleted soon!

If you are unhappy with the way things are why havn't you told the administration. If you just decided to leave... and presumably havn't been back... oh!.. that cant be right you are quite aware of other threads arent you?... Having made your point and 'left' why come back with a big wooden spoon to stir things up?
Taking a post from a closed thread and opening another with it seems to me to be a rather snide and underhand act designed purely to cause friction.
This site, and any other such forum, will have undercurrents and a few will always make trouble. It isnt perfect.. but then... nor are we. Why cant people leave without causing a nasty smell in doing so.
Jaki

Jenny | Where has he explained why? He has copied and pasted a message by Stuart from a thread that has now been closed. That is below the belt. You just don't do that.
He has also stated that his name has been mentioned. Where?? He has also said he wasn't banned. Where in any part of the forum has it ever been mentioned that he has been banned. Nowhere I can tell you.
This is exactly the type of thread that is not needed and I for one do not appreciate what Imaginos is doing.
If you want to get in touch with Imaginos PM him. Don't bring the forum down by bringing a thread like this to life all the time.
All those that are interested, take a good look at what Stuart has said. Read it carefully then tell me where anything is said, or even hinted at, regarding Imaginos.
Rather than putting your answers on this thread PM me please or PM a moderator. We just don't need this thread to be ongoing. Let it die the death it deserves.

| | | Re: Say hello, wave goodbye.... John, Imaginos was ok with me and seems an ok person.
We don't all know what goes on via pm's that is why they are private, people will always end up having tiffs on forums that is the way of the forum world and the outside world
