| | | Re: Long-tailed tits Im not sure when this thread was started but man?.....i think there is a long tailed tit plague where i live? i have NEVER seen so many all over BOTh my gardens? ( we are in one house moving to another)...they were all over my feeding station this morning and all over the new garden too ! and i cant find a reference in my bird book to winter plumage but they seem so much more coloured/marked than usual?

| | | Re: Long-tailed tits Long tailed tits are one of my favourite little birds. The juveniles appear pink to me and have a lovely pinky rim to their eyes.
They aren't the brightest of birds though. When I have watched bird ringers a few times a flock of LTTs can be a nightmare. They all fly into the nets and after being freed/data collected and released the little critters will fly straight back into the nets again. They have to be recorded all over again and they continually do this until the nets are taken down. Arrrrggghh!
