| | | Field Food Hello. Me again. Just being nosey really. What food and drink do you take with you if you're going out for a day's wildlife watching.
I've seen some elaborate pack-ups brought to the hides by some birders which make us hungry. We usually take a couple of cereal bars and water. We're careful to unwrap them outside the hide so we don't make too much noise like one of those annoying sorts at the cinema.
Actually like some ideas for fodder that lasts without wilting, get squashed or worst of all getting warm. We really must invest in a decent flask too.
By the way,I've just eaten a hot cross bun!!

| | | Re: Field Food Usually a flask of coffea to drink and then just a normal pack up really, nothing special just cheese and pickle sarnies, a packet of crisps and a cereal bar. If it's warm in summer I generaly put a cool block from the freezer in the box to keep it all edible but that's it.

| | | Re: Field Food Cheese and tomato rolls, cereal bars and bananas. Very inventive.
Usually water to drink, or tea now I've got my nice new flask for Christmas. Can't be having that new fangled coffee stuff. |

| | | Re: Field Food If I'm volunteering at the reserve normally a flask of soup, carrot and coriander, and a couple of sarnies and some fruit, and maybe a mars bar.
If I'm spending the day carrying out Water Vole surveys it’s the pub at lunch time, only so I can write up my surveys and to get out of the weather for 40mins you understand, nothing to do with having a nice pint of beer.
