| | | Beryl Beryl asked me to let you know, she's ok, but her bay window ceiling fell on her last night, brought down by rain! She has sore head, neck and shoulders, but didn't lose conciousness, and her son who lives near by is helping her get builders and insurance companies to sort it out.
She sent me a photo, but I don't know how to move it from my e-mail to here! Sorry, Beryl!
She's quite shaken, obviously, and upset, so needs your support! She said she won't be on here much for a few days.
P.S. It doesn't seem to have damaged her telescope!

| | | Re: Beryl Yes, I think so, Dan. She was ok earlier, and had been out, and had lunch, and was going for a lie down, so I'm sure she's fine. She had a headache.
I'll keep you posted until she's back on, when I hear. I expect there are other people who have her e-mail too, so can they do the same?

| | | Re: Beryl Hi every one.
Thank you for you good wishes. Back of my head still hurts a bit but I am fine just tired and trying to come to terms with it all. I still keep reliving it all in sort of slow motion.
I thought I could hear water dripping in again but it was rubble slowly falling and the sealing dropped just as I was under it . It came down in two tumbles sort of raining small stuff in-between and after. I remember thinking OMG stop, stop when will it end I was so stunned after. I stood there absolutely covered in this rubble of plaster, all down my neck and my hair was a different colour. What a sight I must have looked. Kind of funny really, sort of like some thing from a Laurel & Hardy show.
Still I am lucky, I'm ok. A lot of other peeps are worse off. with all these storms
Thank you to Badgerwatcher and Barbara for keeping peeps informed.

The high winds ripped away some of the flasing on the bay roof and water got in. You don't know till the damage happens.

The picture of your bay looks frighteningly like ours .... except for the rubble .... at the moment .....

Well I hope so Paul, not unlike most bay windows I think.
The rubble isn't nomal decor. Thing is I polish every thing an vacuum every day to keep all dust free. This is a night mare.
