These badges would have made a good day even better by allowing us to pick each other out more quickly at Slimbridge

An update on the progress of the badges would be appreciated, guys. Even if it's to say they'll be a while yet. After much excitement of getting enough people interested, there's been nothing but silence on the subject since. No worries if there are difficulties producung them and it isn't going to happen at this stage but I think we'd just like to know.

I sent the price lists etc to stu a while back, but we have done nothing further since - i think its probably down to us both being extremly busy people with full time jobs in addition to Wab.

I am currently too busy to oversee the production/ delivery/despatch anyway (just coming to the end of a 12 day working week

) so it is just as well that a final decision to order has yet to be made.

all i can say is that it will happen when it happens , and if someone else would like to take over responsibility for moving it forwards then i would be happy to hand it over

Has the design been finalised Pete?
It just occurred to me that I have no clue what they will look like.
The little green and white union flag, used as an internet icon would be ideal. But, whatever has been chosen will be just as good I'm sure.

more or less like this , but with the writing in dirty brass - i understand that we are dropping the green UJ because it is being extensively used by the countryside alliance.

the exact price is yet to be decided , but the rough price was set ages ago at about £3.50
plus p+p

could i please ask anyone who has further questions to read the thread before asking them because most of the major points have already been covered

That's fair enough. Tis all I wanted to know. I'd suggest when you do have a chance to get them produced, submit a sticky or email asking people to confirm their interest at the time. With the passage of time order pre order requests may alter in amount.

As Pete mentioned, it's still a go, but I'm literally working one hour to the next at the moment getting through a stack of things to do, both on and off the site.

However, I can see some light at the end of the tunnel (just)

and it's a high priority project as I'd really like one or two myself

Thanks for your patience and hopefully it won't be too long before we can get them produced and start taking orders.

Its just on hold at the moment as Stu is up to his neck at the moment.

It would be good to get it sorted prior to the many planned meets though.

I am with Stu on Weds night, for the rest of the week, so will hassle him into submission.

I have been told that (after 6 weeks) i can walk and more importantly drive the car
again I want to do Slimbridge and Minsmere etc and the badge would be good
Is it the ordering/making or the distribution that is the problem? let us know after you have had a chat(with a badge you may recognise me

)

I would imagine that the distribution is the biggest logistical hurdle , but it is also time to get the order sorted as both stu and I have hugely busy lives and cant devote every second to WAB. Stus said that it is still a go so just chill with it it , it'll happen when it happens

thats a question for stu really but i would imagine he has his hands full at the moment with the ongoing gremlin hunt

as far as i know the project is essentially ready to go forwards but is essentially on hold until we get both the time to sort it out and the wherewithall tomake it happen - I dare say stu will fill everyone in in due course but as I say he has more pressing issues on his hands at the mo

Hi everybody. It is ages ago that I ordered my badges, and I can understand that this is a low priority subject. However, I have made myself a couple of high quality Button Badges, 25mm dia, Dark Green background, Yellow text, one saying "Wild About Britain", the other simply "W A B". I have taken a photograph but can't remember how to post it on to the site. I am not trying to 'jump the gun' or make a quick buck or two. I just feel there is a need for a temporary badge that can be worn on the coat, hat, whatever, until we get the beautiful enamel badges through. As these are more than 5mm in thickness, (just!) the post would be 48p 1st class, and a few coppers for packing. I would like to offer these for £1 including postage, the second and following badges being 30p each. Up to about ten badges would be covered by the same postage. I sincerely hope I am not treading on anybodys toes here, but as I already said, this is a temporary way to identify each other - and I am wearing mine in Shropshire. If there is any response I intend to make a donation to the WAB fund when I have covered my expenses. I intend to sell via Paypal.

so long as the donation is a reasonable proportion of the profit I can live with that (assuming stu is okay with it too) , and you are to be commended for taking some initiative - as i was getting tired of people hassling for the badge project to be moved up without wanting to actually put any effort in themselves

i would suggest that it would be a good idea to say what % of each pound you envisage going to wab as this might encourage people to buy.

Obviously the quantity will have some bearing on this - and the profits aren't going to be high, but let's start at 10% as a minimum and see how we go. Please advise how to put up the picture, or can I send it to you?
