Just a thought. |

WWF has the panda, RSPB has the avocet....maybe we could have the Fly Agaric or Badger or something equally simple.

| | | Re: WAB Badge Exactly Matt,
I was actually looking at the Fly Agaric when I mentioned the fungi. I think that would be spot on. If we could incorporate the letters WAB onto it that would be good but if we cant then its up to the members to make the image chosen synonomous with the brand. Thats what its all about, everyone helping to push the brand / image and therefore the charity.
Part of the fun is clocking members with 'the' badge and thinking 'was it, wasn't it?' then of course you could always ask, and get talking. |

| | | Re: WAB Badge The only subject I would steer clear of is birds, as the RSPB have wrightly claimed this image.
For me a fungi, moth, butterfly would be spot on, from a marketing perspective, especially the fungi as it has no perceived gender and has some mystery about it. |

With lettering - Invites questions like "What does WAB stand for?" so useful publicity for the site. Also very good.

I do like the idea of the Fly Agaric with WAB in the middle of it.
Confession: I had to do a search on the site to find out what a Fly Agaric looked like and was delighted to learn it had nothing to do with Flies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS Can I ask why 6,900 or so members have not responded? |

Lots of us are like sheep and we will go with the flow.
I also like the idea of having a Fly Agaric on the badge

Why not consider a Hologram on badge. Nice mushroom or suitable image from one angle, WAB from another. This might dramatically increase costs, honestly dont mean to complicate things.

Jonny | nice idea in theory - sadly unworkable , or rather too expensive, in practice.

I also like the idea of having a Fly Agaric on the badge | Just as well really cos I cant possibly stake the dough for 7000 badges

Has anyone found Stu yet? What does he think? | I've not heard from stu yet , I guess he is busy, but there is no reason why we cant run with the design side, and just pitch a couple of ideas to him before i press the go button on the production.
I'll try and get a few designs done tonight - anyone else who wants to do one feel free , just remember the parameters of five colours max and 25mm on the longest side. Also if you have a good idea but arent so swift with the graphics packages feel free to pm me , I will then send you my email address to that you can send me you rough outline in word or whatever.

to get WILD ABOUT BRITAIN on
On another rather sour note we have 6961 members and we are scratching
for 100 badges for SHAME

| | | Re: WAB Badge I agree that less is more.
I take the point about other orgamisations having "cornered" an animal or bird for their logos.
Fungi, butterflies, Badgers and moths have also been mentioned as possibles. Dragonflies also spring to mind. There are WABers who are expert in various topics and I imagine belong to or know of the bodies that promote their interests. I wonder if any of these would also use a butterfly, fungus, moth, Badger or dragonfly as their emblems. I can't imagine that we would wish to clash; as this would miss the object of having a distinctive logo.
I have just looked at a super picture in the gallery of a male raft spider - is there a Spider Society?
Another thought is to consider an appropriate endangered plant or animal.

making the writing larger would both make it dificult to fit the whole lot in and also reducethe room in the middle.
btw I will bring the samples with meon the meet tommorow so those that are coming (Boddie and fourwings thus far) can have a deckers
