If we get less than 100 preorders we might have to raise the price to compensate for the lower bulk discount but we'll deal with that as and when

Any thoughts on design (apols if I've missed this somewhere)? Presumably the green union flag is one option, although as I've said before with 'Wild About Britain' emblazened on it there are possible countryside alliance and BNP connotations to consider. It wouldn't be instantly obvious that WAB is a wildlife charity.

Matt | That's why I asked. I wouldn't wear such a badge.

| | | Re: WAB Badge Three badges for me (one for each birdwatching outfit) please. Do you have a 'tame' supplier? I know someone local who doesn't charge for design, tooling, etc, and they are hard enamel as opposed to the cheaper 'soft enamel' or painted ones. I think a car window sticker would be good too! It would bring attention to the Site when parked at different birdwatching venues.
kind regards,
George |

Matt | I can see your point to a certain extent matt , but it is the nearest thing wab has to an official logo , and none of the photo based designs we worked out for the car sticker are a viable alternative as we will be limited to 5 colours max ( the other paremeter is that these badges will be 25mm on the longest side so anything with lot of text will be out the window)
I am waiting for wise words from the mighty Stu DH on this - so if any of you people with special jedi powers spot him lurking in the admin area could you point him at this thread and /or ask him to check his PMs

| | | Re: WAB Badge Realistically we are not going to be able to fit WILDABOUTBRITAIN on a badge - not that folk are going to be able to read anyway unless we just have this wording.
Is there any real benefit to having WAB on it?
What is the purpose of the badge?
Is it for identification reasons, or to promote the site?
Personally if it were me I would do one of the following
I would just choose an image that everyone would recognise as being WAB's image. Something simple like a fungi or a butterfly or moth (6 spot Burnett for example)
A simple badge with wildaboutbritain or WAB written on it, in the same sort of style as the Barbour badge |

For me it is more important that it is a design that people recognise as being the WAB badge so the design is only as important as the marketing of it so a small nature related badge, of original design, would be ideal. |

But
If it had WAB on it and you were out with your birding mates or got talking to someone in a hide they may just ask " WAB , oh what's that?" then you can tell them about this great website and point them in the right direction. Sort of members recognition with a bit of advertising.
just a thought
