Sounds a bit like I'd change into a beautiful butterfly though.

| | | Re: Thorns and prickles I thought I had heard some medic or other recently say that they've changed their minds and Tetanus doesn't need to be repeated? Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick?? I haven't had a tetanus jab for years and was planning on using homoeopathic Ledum palustris if the need ever arises in future. . .
I'm rather a reactor to drugs and vaccinations - I almost died from the smallpox jab when I was little and the BCG at age 13-ish made me very very ill Since then I've avoided that sort of thing as best I can. Shame I would love to go to Africa but can't risk the various medications and vaccinations required. Never mind - I get about round this country and I'm gratefull for that!!

I am a gardener and often have cuts on my hands and I had handled a injured gull and injured dove on the same day, so something had got into a cut
Rose thorns can be a cause of tetanus.
How are you to-day? |

How are you to-day? | Hello mrs fish. Good of you to ask. Well, I think I've probably got all the deep ones out. My legs are covered in red marks and scratches from the brambles. Once they get a grip of you it's like a million little sharp fingers. No nasties to report and only a couple of tramline scratches along my cheek. A bit of make up will disguise those though. So all in all, I'm intact thank you.
Good fun though and I'd do it again-except for the bit where I put my hand in Badger poo-urgh!

It does make you feel good though doesn't it being out in the wild and getting stuck in.
I love it |

as for thorns etc...after cleansing try eurax cream...its s'pposed to be for itching but it has an anaesthetic in it that lasts up to 10 hours so helps with the pain |

| | | Re: Thorns and prickles Hi Julie, sorry to hear of your war wounds. I hope the anesthetic continues to sooth. Did you opt for removal of all of them. Did your partner remove the unmentionable one! Sounds like kevlar armour should have been worn. Keep improving.

| | | Re: Thorns and prickles Jules...just curious who you are volunteering with?
As you know i have done it for a year....and have the wounds to show...self harming scratches....a severe case of tinostinovitus in both wrists ( kind of carpul tunnel syndrome) i now have what i think is frozen shoulder in my left shoulder which i can live with but...i have something horrible going on with my right forearm and grip....4 trips to the docs now and i have a referal for physio...it even hurts to squeeze washing liquid from a bottle or to pull my duvet over me at night which is affecting the practical side of my degree no end..
I dont know whats wrong yet but i pray they can sort it out as i want to get stuck in properly.

I did have a cut on my hand too. I always carry that waterless hand cleanser about to kill the bugs.

| | | Re: Thorns and prickles Think Nightshade's referring to the "ahh" should have been "Ahh", the "im" after it should have been "I'm" & all your "i's" , as in you, should be capital "I". Especially as you like pointing out other peoples spelling mistakes. |

| | | Re: Thorns and prickles We all make mistakes.. some dont seem to know about punctuation which makes some posts extremely difficult to understand at first. My problem is spelling. I have to ask..is the spelling lense a particular photography thing? I always thought it was lens.. the es only being added to make a plural.
