Bird characters

When you see a bird do you ever think of what he might be if human. For instance.. a robin makes me think of a fat Dickensian chap in a red waistcoat.. standing with his back to a fire holding his coat tails up with his hands behind his back.
Starlings make me think of gangsters in their broad striped suits.. and tho I am not at all fond of him they put me in mind of the singer..George Melly. (I think it is George).

What or who do you see when you see a bird? Apart from the bird that is

Re: Bird characters

I can see where you're coming from with the starlings - the always remind me of toughs from bad 50s biker films, all leather jackets & big quiffs, hanging about on street corners & shouting at nuns

Sparrowhawks are seedy yet aristocratic middle-aged men cruising for virgins to take advantage of, a bit like the character from the fast show "Me? The 13th Earl of Wimbourne? Here in a woman's prison? At 3.30 in the morning...?"

Re: Bird characters

Just what are you insinuating, Ms. Carpet?! I may have a black leather jacket & a bike but I haven't shouted at a nun for weeks

Bumped into my ex on Christmas eve and I think she said I reminded her of a great bustard, it was very loud...

Re: Bird characters

Garden it is then, I'm honoured. You will of course refer to me as 'Mr Hammer' in all future correspondence

I've thought of another one - jackdaws are like 10 year-old boys, all snotty of face and scabbed of knee, belting round in circles squawking & having a thoroughly good time.

I tried to tell the ex she reminded me of a great tit but I think she misheard and kicked me in the dunnocks

Dear Mr Hammer, I do hope you have recovered from your recent contretemps. I would perhaps suggest you retain the services of Mr. Magpie, who,you will realise, from his outfit, is a Barrister... or our good friend the The Barn Owl who is the judge
yours faithully
Garden Carpet.. Miss
